NGO "Foundation "Grow Up"

The organization was registered on October 28, 2022, in response to the need to address the needs of women and children in Luhansk who were forcibly displaced from their homes due to the full-scale Russian aggression in 2022. The organization's focus revolves around children and families in Luhansk but is not limited to this region. In 2023, NGO "Grow" directed its activities toward the systematic implementation of humanitarian projects, specifically "Baby Bundles" (for children aged 0 to 3), preschooler kits (3 to 6 years old), and "Grow and Achieve" stationery sets for children aged 6 to 17.

In 2024, the organization will continue to prioritize the implementation of humanitarian and educational projects for children in Luhansk residing in Ukraine. A new direction will be the creation of the "Contraty to" platform for women entrepreneurs in Luhansk who have relocated their businesses or started anew. This project involves hosting a series of events, surveys, media publications, meetings with authorities, and advocating for the needs of women entrepreneurs.

The project's visionary and co-founder is Maryna Bohun, a marketing and communications expert, and a social entrepreneur. Maryna has substantial experience in implementing charitable and volunteer initiatives. She is also the co-founder of the "Road to the East" project, which encompassed business, cultural, and educational initiatives for the eastern part of Ukraine during the full-scale war. Maryna is a singer, songwriter, and actress in the musical "Got to be free," a member of the "Aspen-Kyiv" community. In 2023, she was awarded the honorary distinction of the President of Ukraine "For the Defense of Ukraine" for active volunteer activities and support for families in Luhansk.

The NGO directs its initiatives towards specific directions:

  • Providing humanitarian support to children (stationery sets for students in grades 1-11) in collaboration with international organizations and local donors; supplying Ukrainian books, supporting talented children, etc.

  • Implementing projects aimed at supporting the mental health of women, recognizing that the trauma of displacement and uncertainty can impact their future well-being.

  • Implementing and executing projects to build a community of women entrepreneurs in Luhansk. This includes the introduction of educational, enlightening, and other initiatives focused on women's leadership and self-sufficiency, which is particularly crucial during times of war.
